Can I try the classes out before I sign up?    (top)
We always offer at least one free class for new students along with other special offers from time to time.

What do I need to wear for my first karate class?    (top)
You should wear something comfortable for the season and easy to move around in such as shorts and t-shirt or sweatpants and t-shirt. You don't have to worry about shoes, we do not wear shoes on the mats. We provide Karate uniforms at time of sign-up (as long as they are in stock).

What do I wear for Fitness Class?    (top)
For fitness you will need tennis shoes that allow you to pivot on the mats, such as cross trainers. Make sure you carry in your tennis shoes for class, this is to keep the mats clean for the karate students who don't wear shoes. Don't worry you don't have to go out and by the latest Air Jordy's, I actually use a cheap pair that I purchased at Pamida and they work fine for what we do in class. Other than tennis shoes you can wear shorts/sweats, t-shirt/tank top, whatever the latest fashion is in fitness. Just make sure if you wear long sweat pants that you have the option to remove them with shorts underneath as it starts out cold sometimes and then really heats up. Just think another great reason to get moving and join our fitness class, you can go shopping again!!

What is the cost for classes?    (top)
Our pricing depends on the program you choose. Call or email to set up an appointment for an introductory class and we will get you into the program that fits you or your child.

Are there belt test fees?    (top)
We try to keep our belt test fees to a minimum. With that being said there is a belt test fee for Jr. Black Belt ($35). Adult Black Belt testing is $135.00 for each Black Belt Rank. There are no belt test fees for Little Ninjas, Ki-Ai KiDS or the regular Adult Rank Testing.

I haven't worked out for a while, will I be totally exhausted?    (top)
We realize exercise, conditioning, and getting in shape are many of the reasons you come to us. Our karate classes are tailored for beginners and those who want to start slow, but still keep you challenged without being out of breath. Our fitness classes are a little more challenging early on, but you can still go at your own pace. The best place to start would be the Fitness Kickboxing class, it allows you to take rests without feeling left out. If you are more into Cardio you can still hang out in the back of the pack until you get the routine down and your oxygen level back up!

When do I test out if I am a White Belt?    (top)
If you are a Little Ninja and a White Belt you will test out with the other Ninjas as long as you have 8 stripes. If you are a Youth Beginner you will test out in class when you have 24 classes in or 6 stripes on your belt.

Will I have to spar in Karate class?    (top)
You will not begin to spar (sport fighting) until you are a Yellow Belt (next belt after White). Even then you will be taken through drills and practices that are comfortable for your ability. You always have the option to opt out if you feel unsafe at anytime. Sparring Gear (padding) is worn for this activity.
